Clap, clap, clap your hands

On Thursday, September 25, Christian clapped his hands for the first time. He was sitting in his car seat and we had some kiddy music playing and he clapped his hands once, realized what he had done, and decided to do it over and over again. Now if we sing "If you're happy and you know it" he will start clapping. Here is a video of him clapping his hands.

Naughty or Nice?

The other morning while I was trying to clean and put the dishes from the dishwasher away, Christian started to take out all of the tupperware containers from the cabinet. He pulled out container after container, laughing at the loud noises they made when they fell on the floor, and banging them together to make more noise. Now there are two ways I can view this situation. One, Christian was being nice and was trying to help me rearrange the tupperware cabinet and he was just making a lot of noise so that daddy could wake up and come downstairs to help. Two, Christian was being naughty and was loving the big mess he was making that mommy was later going to have to clean. Maybe you can watch the video and help me decide, was Christian naughty or nice?

Christian's artwork

So I picked up Christian from daycare this afternoon and his teacher Miss Laura, gave me something that Christian made(with help of course). She was going to use it to decorate the september bulletin board but because of the hurricane Christian missed a lot of school and now the month is almost over. Oh well, now it can decorate my house. Isn't it cute?! I think it's a catepillar...maybe. Either way his hands are teeny tiny and I'm lovin it!!! I think he is the next picasso...LoL

Christian's First Hair Cut

So today was a special day. After spending countless nights struggling to dry Christian's unbelievably thick hair, spending countless mornings attempting to untangle his sticky food filled hair, and spending countless days combing his bangs out of his eyes, we finally decided that Christian was in desperate need of a haircut. Contrary to popular belief, we were not trying to grow Christian's hair out so he could look like one of the Beatles. He was just born with sooooo much hair and after our last little home haircut fiasco where blood was drawn(so sad), we were a little scared to do it ourselves. But it had to be done(we didn't want him to end up looking like cousin "It" from the Adams Family, so we took him to this really great place called "Cool Cuts" They have all sorts of neat stuff to keep the kids entertained while getting their hair cut. Christian really like the car chairs that they had. He did not however appreciate having water sprayed on his head or the sounds of the clippers as he was edged up. He did cry a little, but the stylist was fast and it was over before you could say "Christian Alexander the Great". He looks so cut with his new hair cute, doesn't he?!

The before shot, Christian in desperate need of a haircut!
What a cool idea to keep kids entertained
Christian ready and waiting
Christian's not really diggin his first hair cut. Oh, what a sad face!
Take a little off the sides please
Getting edged up like daddy
Christian won't have to view the world through a layer of bangs anymore!
Finally cooperating
Don't I look handsome?!
The after shot, wow! what a difference! I'm ready for my close up now

The Children's Museum

Today we took Christian to the Childrens Museum in Houston. There we met up with one of his friends named Kaleb. Christian and Kaleb explored an area of the Museum called the "Tot Spot". They roamed free enjoying all that the tot spot had to offer.
Christian and Kaleb enjoy a meal before exploring the museum

Let's gooooo!!!!! We are ready to play!!!!
Christian, why are they still feeding us when we want to play?
Christian and Kaleb finally get to explore
Kaleb, if we work together I think we can break this
I'm gonna get you Kaleb!
Mom quit taking pictures and play with me!

Christian takes time to ride nemo
Hey, why do you keep taking pictures of me?!

All this playing made me hungry!
What's behind this door?
Hey how did you get in there?
Cruisin for some honeys
Are we there yet?
I'm tired of driving Caleb, you take over
Christian is getting the spare tire ready

Overall, Christian really had a good time exploring the Tot Spot. He passed out in his car seat and slept the whole way home.

Monkey'N Around

Today we took Christian to a place called Monkey'N Around. It is basically an indoor playground full of toys, slides, and lots of other fun stuff for toddlers and infants. Unfortunately, Christian was the only one there! Due to Ike...maybe? Our bad luck, but have no fear Christian found plenty of ways to entertain himself and have fun. He crawled, cruised, and climbed his way over everything! I guess you could say that he was king of Monkey'N Around for the day!:0)
Just chillin'
I guess Christian didn't inherit his mom's fear of heights!
Catch!
Come on Daddy, lets play
Hey, who is this handsome fellow?
Look mom, no hands!!
Tunnel Fun
I found a new form of transportation...trouble here I come!
What can I get into next?!
Here I go.....
Beep, Beep!! I'm cruisin for cuties!

Out of the way, this driver is swirvin!
Time to go home Christian, are you gonna drive?
